Microsoft recently rolled out an update for Edge Dev that brings several new features and a number of fixes. Following the update, the browser has sign-in and sync for personal Microsoft accounts on by default for Linux users. Previously, y'all had to enable this characteristic through a flag. The update also brings more options for the PDF mini menu and more than options for opening favorite web pages.

Here'south everything added to Edge Dev:

  • Sign-in and sync for personal Microsoft accounts is now turned on by default on Linux! See our announcement from last week for more than details: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/articles/users-tin can-now-sign-in-and-sync-their-favorites-with-....
  • The PDF mini menu is gaining two new options! When yous highlight a word, you'll now see an option to search for that word or to ascertain it. Those two options have been promoted from the full context bill of fare due to mutual utilise, and you tin can read more than most it here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/manufactures/introducing-lexicon-for-pdf-mini-menu/m-p/2243276.
  • Added the power to open up the Favorites, History, etc. management pages by clicking the Favorites, History, etc. name at the top of their corresponding popup menus.
  • Added a setting to control whether or not Sleeping Tabs appear faded.
  • Added a notification to switch profiles when a website or PWA is installed in one browser profile and you endeavour to install the aforementioned i over again in another profile. Note that this has been rolling out over the past few weeks, and is at present enabled by default.
  • Added a management policy to control if Application Baby-sit Traffic Identification is Enabled, which controls if Awarding Guard windows ship extra headers to identify to web pages that they're existence showing in an Application Guard window. Notation that updates to documentation or authoritative templates may not have occurred all the same.

In improver to sharing everything that'due south new in Border Dev, Microsoft also has a summary of its top feedback for the browser. An intriguing detail that appears is the ability to motility Vertical Tabs to the right side of the screen. This characteristic is only under review and might not ever come up to Edge, but information technology's interesting to see Microsoft consider it.

This calendar week nosotros're adding on a new vertical tabs item: Users tin can move Vertical Tabs to the right side of the screen. This is something we've seen requests not simply submitted to us directly simply also on our social channels! The squad is currently reviewing this item, just once nosotros have more details to share about this bit of feedback we will update here.

If this feature does show upwards in Border, it would exist a squeamish addition to the browser. Information technology's a highly requested feature on social media and in feedback sent straight to Microsoft.
